Episode Summary:

On this episode we talk with bro. Zach Black. Bro. Zach shares his testimony how he started to drift away from the Lord when he started attending college when he was 18 years old and how sin gradually started taking hold of his life.

It wasn’t until he realized how far sin and worldly living had pulled him down to, that he came to himself and he started seeking the Lord and the Lord came on the scene in a powerful way for bro. Zach.

On This Episode Bro. Zach shares with us:

1. How he started going to college with too much of an open mind, which led to him hanging out with the wrong crowd and dabbling in the world.

2. How he knew that the world was only giving him temporary satisfaction one of those being worldly music, but he was stuck in a loop of wanting to give it up, but couldn’t within himself.

3. The different spiritual experiences he had in the last few years at Youth Camps including seeing the Pillar of Fire.

4. How the experiences he had as wonderful as they were did not give him the New Birth in his soul.

5. How after the Believer’s Youth Camp in Indiana in 2019 he had an experience with God, but when he got back home from the camp several weeks later he fell deeper in sin.

6.  How he got so tired of the way he was living and became desperate that turned everything around for him.

7. How a talk with his father led to God giving him a revelation of the Word personally to him.

8. How God confirmed to him through a Bible verse that he had given him the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

9. Why he decided to get re-baptized and his advice to young people today that have grown up with Message-believing parents.

Episode Transcript:

[00:00:00] Luis Urrego: [00:00:00] Welcome. This is a Luis Urrego with the Ten Thousand Worlds Podcast. I’m glad that you could join us. And I have here with me, brother Zach Black. Brother Zach, we go to the same church together. He attends the same church that I attend Spoken Word Church in Lula, Georgia. Our pastor is  brother, Samuel Dale. And, if you just want to greet the listeners brother Zach.

[00:00:28] Zach Black: [00:00:28] Hey everyone. Um, my name is Zach, and, uh, I just wanna agree everyone that’s listening. Um, and this is my testimony of, you know, I guess how I came to the Lord and what he’s done for me.

[00:00:41] Luis Urrego: [00:00:41] Yeah. So brother Zach, uh, the Lord has been working with, with him, and the Lord has been dealing with him in the last, I guess, several months, several last several weeks.

[00:00:53] And, uh, so he has a very powerful testimony. And, uh. I’d like to, for a brother, Zach, to just [00:01:00] share that with, with us. And, uh, you can go head from the beginning, brother Zach, and just, just, just take your time.

[00:01:07] Zach Black: [00:01:07] All right. So I guess I’m gonna go ahead and start off by saying, uh, I’ve been homeschooled all my life and just, you know, haven’t been, uh, really around kids my age, most of my life, except for, you know, youth camps that I went to growing up and I grew up in the message. And, uh, I’ve always gone to a message church.

[00:01:32] Luis Urrego: [00:01:32] Before we continue how old are you Zach?,

[00:01:34] Zach Black: [00:01:34] uh, I’m 20 years old now, 20 years old,

[00:01:38] Luis Urrego: [00:01:38] 20 years old. So he’s a very young man.

[00:01:41] Zach Black: [00:01:41] Yeah.

[00:01:42] Luis Urrego: [00:01:42] Alright. Go ahead

[00:01:43] Zach Black: [00:01:43] So, um, anyway, uh, when I was about 18, was when I was really, I guess you could, could say, exposed to the world. And, uh, this is when I started to going, started going to college. [00:02:00] And, uh, I, I, uh, I started, I started going to college with this mindset of being open to, uh, I guess a lot of different things, which isn’t really a good mindset to have, you know.

[00:02:16] Yeah. Especially when you’re going to college and you’re not born again Christian. And, uh, yeah. This is not a good place to be. Yeah. But, um, so I, I went to college and I had that mindset and I, uh, I started dabbling in things that I shouldn’t have, you know, gotten involved in and started talking to people that I shouldn’t have been talking to and, uh, having the wrong kinds of friends.

[00:02:43] And they just. Sin just really started sucking me in. And, um, one thing that I learned really quickly is that sin will always take you farther than you want to go, you know, further than you intended. Absolutely. You can’t just [00:03:00] mess around, you know, here and there and see, you know, how something small is and then expect sin not to take you further than that, if that makes sense.

[00:03:10] But, uh. That lasted, uh, about two years for me, one and a half to two years of just, uh, being in sin and being just back slid. Yeah. Uh huh. Just hanging out with people I shouldn’t have been hanging out with and doing things that I, you know, really didn’t ever see myself doing before that when I was younger.

[00:03:36] And, um, so, uh, but through all that, I, it never really felt right. Like I knew something was missing deep down inside. Right? Yeah. Uh, and I could tell like even, even the things that I was involved in and the things that I was doing, it would, it would give me temporary satisfaction, but I never really, uh, [00:04:00] gave me that full satisfaction, that joy  that, uh, you get from serving the Lord.

[00:04:06] Amen. Uh, I was basically kind of stuck in a loop for a while. So I would, I, I knew where I was and what I was doing, but I couldn’t get out of it. It was like the spirit that was hanging over me, just, uh, and, and, uh, I didn’t, I would always think like, well, if I, if I were to become a Christian, uh, I would have to give up this, you know, or I could give up some of these things, but there were other things that I didn’t want to quite give up yet. Like music, music had a really big, hold on me. I’m like, rap music and all that.

[00:04:43] Luis Urrego: [00:04:43] Oh yeah.

[00:04:44] Zach Black: [00:04:44] That’s a very strong spirit. And I know a lot of.

[00:04:47] Luis Urrego: [00:04:47] I can relate.

[00:04:48] Zach Black: [00:04:48] Yeah. A lot of people struggle with that.

[00:04:52] Yeah. Especially young people. Yeah.

[00:04:54] Luis Urrego: [00:04:54] I can relate with that. Because when I was younger and that was, that was my, that was my [00:05:00] battle. Especially hip hop music,

[00:05:02] rap music.

[00:05:03] Zach Black: [00:05:03] That was mine too.

[00:05:04] Luis Urrego: [00:05:04] Yeah. So, uh, that’s, that’s, I can relate with that. Yeah. But now you’ve grown up in the message  all of your life.

[00:05:12] Zach Black: [00:05:12] All of my life.

[00:05:12] Luis Urrego: [00:05:12] You were born, your parents believe in the Message. . And so you were raised, right?

[00:05:19] Zach Black: [00:05:19] Right,

[00:05:20] Luis Urrego: [00:05:20] Right. But you had to come to a point where it was just between you and God. You had to add your own experience. So I don’t want to get ahead. You go ahead with the story. So what happened? What happened next?

[00:05:34] Zach Black: [00:05:34] All right. So, uh, you know, as you know, that went on for awhile and I just, uh, I kinda got to the place where, well, by the way, through all of this, I know that my parents knew something was was wrong. Yeah. And that I was dealing with, i was going through something in life and I knew that they were praying for me through all of this

[00:05:53] Luis Urrego: [00:05:53] Because they were concerned.

[00:05:55] Zach Black: [00:05:55] They were concerned. They didn’t know exactly what I was dealing with, but they knew that something was wrong [00:06:00] and that, you know, I just needed prayer. And I think that really, really had a lot to do with, um, helping me come to the Lord. So, uh, the Lord started to deal with me. I’d say about. I guess over this, this past summer of 2019.

[00:06:19] Luis Urrego: [00:06:19] Okay.

[00:06:20] Zach Black: [00:06:20] So that’s when he really, really started to deal with me. Especially like, um, I went to, I Believer’s Youth Camp in Indiana, and, uh, I, I had a really good experience there and I really felt like that changed me.

[00:06:35] Luis Urrego: [00:06:35] Yeah.

[00:06:35] Zach Black: [00:06:35] But right after that, um. I fell right back into what I was doing before. But that, that still, that experience like stayed with me. It just made me realize that God’s still cared about me. Yeah. And that, that was really important for what happened later on.

[00:06:52] Luis Urrego: [00:06:52] Now, Zach, but let me ask you this, but while you were still, while you were out doing these things and stuff like that. [00:07:00] You were still also going to other youth camps as well, right?

[00:07:03] Zach Black: [00:07:03] Definitely.

[00:07:03] Luis Urrego: [00:07:03] You were, I think you, you would go to the Louisiana camp and stuff like that.

[00:07:07] Zach Black: [00:07:07] I didn’t go to the Louisiana camp this past year because at that time I was, I had college classes and…

[00:07:13] Luis Urrego: [00:07:13] The year before that, did you go?

[00:07:16] Zach Black: [00:07:16] Yeah, the year before that I went and that was, I’d say I was, I was. 18 during that time.

[00:07:24] 18 I think. Yeah.

[00:07:25] Luis Urrego: [00:07:25] So that’s when just started to like school and like college and stuff like that.

[00:07:30] Zach Black: [00:07:30] So that’s when it was kind of starting.

[00:07:32] Luis Urrego: [00:07:32] All right. But now if I, if I remember correctly, you had a, an experience there as well.

[00:07:39] Zach Black: [00:07:39] Yeah.

[00:07:41] Luis Urrego: [00:07:41] Can you tell us real quick about that?

[00:07:43] Zach Black: [00:07:43] Yes. So, uh, while they were having a prayer line, I think it was the last, uh, night of camp. They had this really big prayer line. And I, I remember I had gone through the prayer line and I went to, like, towards the [00:08:00] back of the church and I looked up and I saw this light over, um, over the end of the prayer line. And I looked up at it and I just saw it like move back behind me, like just like with, and within a blink of an eye.

[00:08:14] And it disappeared. But I believe that I was a pillar of fire. I had that experience and you know, I saw that and I knew I had, you know, experiences like that throughout my life where I knew that God was real, but it’s just you, you get, I got caught in that just not being saved and not really having something to ground me.

[00:08:37] And that’s what, you know, allowed sin to kind of pull me down.

[00:08:42] Luis Urrego: [00:08:42] And that’s what I kind of wanted to get get to and, let the listeners know, especially our young listeners, is that you can have experiences like that and they can be totally real. And I believe them, and I believe that you had that experience, [00:09:00] but at the same time, that should not be the all in all that you have a relationship with God. Right?

[00:09:08] Zach Black: [00:09:08] Right, exactly.

[00:09:09] Luis Urrego: [00:09:09] Do you agree with that? Okay.

[00:09:10] Zach Black: [00:09:10] I believe like you can have experiences like that that really make you feel like your life has changed and that God has filled you with a new birth and it’s, it’s, it’s all a personal experience. So we’ll only, you know, and when, you know, you know, but you got to remember it like it can, uh, it can only be on your spirit.

[00:09:32] Yeah. And a lot of times that’s very deceiving. Yeah. It can be.

[00:09:35] Luis Urrego: [00:09:35] Yeah.

[00:09:36] Zach Black: [00:09:36] You got to make sure that it’s something that comes into your soul.  and that will actually keep you, I .

[00:09:44] Luis Urrego: [00:09:44] Absolutely. That’s awesome. So let’s forward now. So you had that experience there and Louisiana camp, let’s forward to 2019 now the summer of last year. And you were at in Ohio or Indiana, right?

[00:09:56] Zach Black: [00:09:56] Yeah.

[00:09:56] Luis Urrego: [00:09:56] And this was at the camp there, and you [00:10:00] said the Lord was starting to deal with you then. So what happened after that?

[00:10:03] Zach Black: [00:10:03] So at that camp, the Lord really dealt with me and I had an amazing experience for where I believe I, the Lord completely cleanse me of I didn’t have the desires. I felt like I didn’t have the desires that I had while I was at that camp, and I really felt like a new person. But as soon as I went back home, about a week to two weeks later, those desires came back and I felt right back into to where I was before. Um, and I actually fell deeper then I was before, so I was even, I was even in an even worse condition.

[00:10:42] I know, like. Like brother Branham said, you get delivered if whatever you’re dealing with then seven, demons will come back.

[00:10:49] Luis Urrego: [00:10:49] Yeah. If that doesn’t get filled,

[00:10:52] Zach Black: [00:10:52] Right. Yeah. If, yeah. If you know, you don’t feel it with, with God. Right. And so, but the Lord was [00:11:00] still dealing with me and at that point, I was like pretty down.

[00:11:04] I was starting to feel kind of hopeless. Maybe it was too late for me. And, uh. That it was getting too close to the end for the rapture, you know, to happen. For me to come to the Lord, that maybe it was too late for, you know, a lot of young people, because I know that there aren’t very many young people, especially now that are truly filled with a new birth.

[00:11:29] Yeah. And it’s very hard to find someone like that nowadays. Is what I’ve noticed in my experience.

[00:11:35] Because you, you, you know, a good bit of people, you know, amongst the message ranks and you can sort of gauge and tell which ones are struggling and which ones really do have something solid.

[00:11:49] Right?

[00:11:50] Yeah.

[00:11:51] Okay. Yeah.

[00:11:52] So. I fell back into that. I was, I was just really struggling with that for awhile and then got, he really [00:12:00] started dealing with me to where I wanted the desire to serve him. Okay. But the desire wasn’t there. Like I felt like it wasn’t there. Like I didn’t want to, I didn’t have like the motivation to pick up the Bible and read it and, and learn more about him, which listen to a tape or want to listen to a tape.

[00:12:19] It was almost like it was kind of irritating. To me  like a, there’s just the spirit that was on me that would just like, I just, it made me feel, I don’t really know how to explain it. Like, it was almost, um, kind of annoying in a way. Like that was the feeling that kind of gave me, which is horrible, but I, I felt really bad about that.

[00:12:42] I didn’t like that. I didn’t, you know, want to read the Bible or anything like that. So I just started praying. And asking, God will give me the desire to want to read your work more and give me the desire to want to want to quit these things completely in completely give [00:13:00] my life to you and, uh, just fully surrender myself.

[00:13:05] Yeah. And I prayed that for awhile, but I, and I, and, and I repented and it started like getting to the point where I was doing that more and more. But I still, it was like I was stuck in this loop of just, I would repent, but I would also have in the back of my mind, well, I can’t fully surrender because I have to give a music or I have to give up this other thing, you know?

[00:13:29] Yeah. And, uh, I still like didn’t quite want to fully surrender myself, you know, just because of those things that I still had a desire for. So. It was, can you say it was like a tug of war? I, yeah. Yeah. That’s a good way to describe it as a tug of war that I don’t want

[00:13:50] between DataMine yeah. Doing God and Satan, but have them called it battle battle.

[00:13:57] Battle of the mind.

[00:13:58] Yeah. Like the

[00:14:00] [00:13:59] conflict between God and Satan. Yeah. And, and so it’s, it’s, uh, it’s all in the spirit realm. But, uh, of course, um, something has, one of them is going to win. Oh yeah. You can’t have two winners, neither can you have

[00:14:14] two losers.

[00:14:14] Yeah. So, so what happened after that?

[00:14:18] So I just kept praying that, and one day I don’t really know what happened, you know?

[00:14:26] But, uh, God, I just felt like this strong desire as base. Okay. So basically I just got to the point where I was tired of myself. Oh, okay. I was tired of everything that I was doing and that that was just the place that I came to to where like I, I couldn’t see myself living like, like I just thought like, where’s, where’s sin going to take me end?

[00:14:49] Like, where, where is this gonna how is this gonna help me in life? You know, the things that I’m doing. It’s not going to make me a better person. It’s not going to make me a good husband in the [00:15:00] future, and it’s not going to make me a good father in the future. It’s not. It’s not making me a good son. Good thoughts.

[00:15:07] Yeah. So it, it, uh, and I want it to be a good person deep down inside. Sure. But it was just, uh, the spirits that had a hold of me and they were pre preventing that in a sense. Yeah. So I got to that point and I think. God allowed that to happen. Like he was, he made me tired of who I was and you know what I was doing.

[00:15:32] So, um, and then I, I felt that desperation come over me where I, uh, started reading my Bible and I wanted to read my Bible and just, I began, you know, just stuffing myself with the word of God and learning more about him. And I wanted to learn more about him. You know, just. Who God was and, and not just go off of, uh, what my dad said or what anyone at church said.

[00:16:00] [00:16:00] Yeah. Because. It’s, it’s a personal experience. It’s individual, and nobody else can do it for you. You gotta do it yourself. And that’s right. Oh yeah. And it’s always different for everyone. So, uh, I came to that realization

[00:16:16] and it reminds me of that Bible verse that Jesus said, blessed are those

[00:16:21] who hunger and thirst after righteousness, right?

[00:16:23] Yeah.

[00:16:24] And. And then what the next part is, uh, for they

[00:16:28] shall be filled.

[00:16:30] So,

[00:16:30] yeah. So, yeah, I read that to you today. I forgot what scripture that was though, but I remember I was reading my Bible and I, I remember reading that. Yeah,

[00:16:39] Luis Urrego: [00:16:39] there’s no, there’s no, there’s a period there, like they shall be a blessing to those who, who, uh.

[00:16:46] Well, you know, seek and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you. It’s not, maybe it shall be a, I don’t know if the door might open up a little bit. No, it will

[00:16:56] Zach Black: [00:16:56] be open.

[00:16:58] Luis Urrego: [00:16:58] But the thing is, is that, see, you were [00:17:00] hungry and you were thirsting, and you were starting to get desperate. Right? And you were, you were hating.

[00:17:08] The life that you were living, uh, the, the person that you had become.

[00:17:13] Zach Black: [00:17:13] Yeah, exactly.

[00:17:14] Luis Urrego: [00:17:14] So, so go on.

[00:17:16] Zach Black: [00:17:16] So I fi feeding yourself for the word is very important because then that allows God to start doing something for you.  and that I realized that very quickly. And the more I noticed, the more that I read the Bible, the more of a desire that I had.

[00:17:34] It was like the white dog black dog thing. You know, you feed the white dog

[00:17:38] Luis Urrego: [00:17:38] and you’ll know

[00:17:39] Zach Black: [00:17:39] it’ll grow. That’s right. So, um, and that’s what was, that’s what was happening. So I remember my dad told me, uh, I told him about, you know, what was happening and that God was dealing with me and he just told me to keep reading the Bible.

[00:17:56] And to keep just stuffing myself full of the word and that [00:18:00] God is obligated to keep his word. So anything that he says he’s obligated to keep that. And I’ve heard that before, of course, but like I’m saying, that really just kind of stuck with me that time, I guess, because I was in a different place where God was dealing with me and it made me realize like, wow, that’s, that’s true.

[00:18:24] Like. He never goes back on his word. He always keeps his word. So I, I just kept reading my Bible and just kept doing that and stuffing myself full, full of as full as I could his word. And one day, um, my dad came up to my room and you know, I told him, I was talking to him about, you know, how was scaling and you know, that I had been reading the Bible.

[00:18:50] He, he told me that getting the Holy ghost. When you get born again, it’s like God stepping out in front of you and saying, here I [00:19:00] am. Hmm. And I don’t know why, but him saying that just made me burst out into tears and I started crying and I was like, I told him I don’t want that so bad. And I, I, for the first time, I meant that so sincerely.

[00:19:19] Yeah. Well than I ever have. And, um, I, I just said I want that so bad. And like deep down I could feel like I just, like, I was ready to let go of absolutely everything. I didn’t want anything that was on pleasing to God in my life, and I was just ready to completely let go and surrender myself and let God just do what he needed to do.

[00:19:41] So, um, after, after my dad told me that he, uh. He left. And, um, we have to, of course, we like talked a little bit more after that, but then he left and I, I read a few more scriptures and I, I prayed and I went to sleep. And, uh, the next day [00:20:00] I, it was just like a normal day. But you know, I read my, I read my Bible again a few times throughout the day and that night I was really praying.

[00:20:10] And, and then I, you know, started reading my Bible again and I was reading acts and, um, I was, I was just gonna read through the whole book of acts. It was as my dad told me that, you know, that’s very informative on like how to get the new birth and, you know, just explain it, you know, was,

[00:20:27] Luis Urrego: [00:20:27] was the reading of acts, was that the same night that your dad.

[00:20:31] Talk to you and then you said that you just pushed it out. And

[00:20:35] Zach Black: [00:20:35] that was, and I have to see this. This is the night after. Okay. My dad talked to me, I think you’ve already said that. Um, so. I was reading the book of acts and, uh, I remember I read, I was reading acts two and I got to verse 21. And uh, it said, and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call him the name of the [00:21:00] Lord shall be saved.

[00:21:01] Hmm. And I sat back after reading that one verse and I was like, wow. Like it just hit me all of a sudden. Yeah. It was like this personal revelation. I was like, whosoever, that’s me. I mean, to me, that’s right. Whoever, it doesn’t matter who it is. And it says, whosoever shall call and the Navy board shall be saved.

[00:21:25] That’s what does it say, my or anything like that. And I just read that over and over and I was like, wow, that it doesn’t matter what I’ve done or what kind of place I’m at in my life, you know? And, and I, I was like, I know I’ve been calling on the name of the Lord. And just like calling on him and I know he’s been calling me.

[00:21:45] Yeah. And uh, I felt this warm feeling come over me and I just like sat back and I started praying and, uh, I just repeated myself or repeated to God over and over in my prayer, [00:22:00] please give me the number, please give me number. It’s just giving me your Holy ghost. Just make me born again and settle this for good cause I don’t want to go back into a loop.

[00:22:09] I don’t want to, you know, I’m tired of falling back into the same place and I just want to be sealed in my soul man. And, uh. That was,

[00:22:20] Luis Urrego: [00:22:20] that was the colon. That was the column of the name of the Lord. So you took, you took action, you read the word, and then you immediately

[00:22:30] Zach Black: [00:22:30] took action. What the word said there.

[00:22:32] Yeah.

[00:22:33] Luis Urrego: [00:22:33] That’s as simple. If we can just take God like that. So simple.

[00:22:37] Zach Black: [00:22:37] Yeah. The word works. Yeah, it is. It’s just he wants

[00:22:40] Luis Urrego: [00:22:40] you to believe him, you

[00:22:42] Zach Black: [00:22:42] know? Yeah. And it’s, it’s crazy how simple it is. And how little. It takes us just for you to believe. That’s right. Yep. And that’s all it takes. It’s all it takes, but people, I guess a lot of people just don’t really understand that.

[00:22:58] Yeah. They are. [00:23:00] Or how simple it is. They overcomplicate it as

[00:23:02] Luis Urrego: [00:23:02] we over complicated. Yeah. And you know, Jesus had already said that my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Yeah. You see. It’s a, it’s a burden that, you know what a burden is? A burden is something heavy that you’re carrying, right? It’s a something that you’re carrying, but yet even the, the burden, his burden is light.

[00:23:25] Zach Black: [00:23:25] Yeah.

[00:23:26] Luis Urrego: [00:23:26] It’s not, it’s not heavy. It’s supposed to be heavy because you’re carrying a burden. Right? It’s like you’re carrying a bunch of . Suitcases, you know, and I’m like, kind of like if you watch the Pilgrim’s progress or read the Pilgrim’s progress where we’re Christian, you know, the main character there he had, he had the, uh, the burden stuck to his back and it was heavy and stuff.

[00:23:47] But even the Christian life is only as tough as you make it out to be. And it’s because we, we fell to believe on,

[00:23:55] Zach Black: [00:23:55] God says in his word correctly. So.

[00:23:58] Luis Urrego: [00:23:58] But that’s not what happened [00:24:00] with you. You just read it and you say, Lord, that’s what I want, and then I’m doing it. So, so I’m sorry to interrupt again

[00:24:06] Zach Black: [00:24:06] guys.

[00:24:06] Fine. Just, it sparked that faith, you know? Yeah. And so, yeah. Anyway, I was praying over and over. I just kept asking over and over, and then I felt this thought, insert my mind while I had this warm feeling come over me. It wasn’t my own thought. I know that for a fact. But, uh, you said you only had to ask me one time.

[00:24:32] Hmm. And then that warm feeling left over after that. Yeah. Wow. And then I opened my eyes and I was like, that was not me. I was like, I was in shock. I was like, wow.

[00:24:45] Luis Urrego: [00:24:45] So did, did you hear an audible voice?

[00:24:47] Zach Black: [00:24:47] No. It wasn’t an audible voice. Yeah. Something in my head that, but I knew like it wasn’t mine. Yeah. It wasn’t your thoughts just yet.

[00:24:57] It’s hard to explain, you know? [00:25:00] Yeah. But yeah, that’s what happened. And, um. That was a clarification to me that, you know, it was done okay. And I just felt completely free. You know, more than I ever have angry. Just like this peace and this joy  like bubbling up really. And that’s how it’s been ever since that day.

[00:25:22] Wow. I mean, of course there’s like, you have hard times. Yeah. You know, and the devil would try to come back and, and remind you of things, but when you have that. Uh, when you’re like rooted in the word of the Lord, that keeps you and I can tell ever since then, I can see God directing my life and everywhere.

[00:25:44] Hmm. He’s, uh, yeah. It’s, it’s crazy to see that,

[00:25:49] Luis Urrego: [00:25:49] that experience that you had with the warm feeling that was, that was about how long ago

[00:25:55] Zach Black: [00:25:55] that was about. That was on the night of January 7th [00:26:00] okay. Yeah,

[00:26:00] Luis Urrego: [00:26:00] so it was recent?

[00:26:01] Zach Black: [00:26:01] Yeah, it was this year. Okay. All right. Yeah, I had that date written down. Yeah. I’ll never forget that.

[00:26:07] Luis Urrego: [00:26:07] So yeah, that’s the confirmed young people that God’s still working even in, in January, 2020 even on January 27th, 2021 we’re recording this right now. God’s still working and he’s still changing lives even at this very moment. It’s the fact that if you want it or not.

[00:26:27] Zach Black: [00:26:27] Exactly. Because

[00:26:28] Luis Urrego: [00:26:28] like brother Brandon has always said.

[00:26:30] The Holy spirit is a gentleman and he doesn’t

[00:26:32] Zach Black: [00:26:32] force anybody to do anything. Exactly. But even if you don’t feel like you have the desire to serve him or to open up your Bible and read it and do that, if you ask God for the desperation, he’ll give it to you because that’s what he did for me. That’s, that’s good.

[00:26:49] Yeah.

[00:26:49] Luis Urrego: [00:26:49] So be desperate to ask God to make you desperate.

[00:26:52] Zach Black: [00:26:52] Yeah, exactly. And just be sincere. Yeah. Yeah. Experience, it would be sincere and mean what you say, cause God [00:27:00] knows everything already, so sure. Yeah.

[00:27:03] Luis Urrego: [00:27:03] And Satan, like you said while ago, you know, you’re going to have battles and struggles and it’s Satan’s just doing his job, right.

[00:27:11] To try to hinder the believer. But, um, that’s where you have to press on. You have to keep moving forward and keep putting the Lord before you.

[00:27:20] Zach Black: [00:27:20] Right.

[00:27:21] Luis Urrego: [00:27:21] Exactly. So what happened? What happened after that? Anything under that or, well,

[00:27:28] Zach Black: [00:27:28] I, after that, I was just kinda thinking, well I, I knew obviously that, you know, I was born again and that was it.

[00:27:35] Cause I just, they was settled. It was settled. Yeah. I, uh, was thinking to myself like, should I, should I get rebaptized cause I’ve already been baptized twice in my life, but it wasn’t. You know, I was, it was when I was younger, the first time was when I was six years old, and the second was when I was 14 years old.

[00:27:55] For both times I never really understood what I needed [00:28:00] or what that meant. Yeah. Kind of. Yeah. Like the full meaning of what that meant. Uh, so I decided that, you know, since my life was really changed that I didn’t need to get rebaptized just to show the world and to really like. Show Satan. Yeah, absolutely.

[00:28:19] Yeah. Yeah. So I, yeah, I got rebaptized the week after that and the week after that

[00:28:26] Luis Urrego: [00:28:26] experience

[00:28:27] Zach Black: [00:28:27] that you had. Yeah.

[00:28:28] Luis Urrego: [00:28:28] And there’s nothing wrong with getting baptizing of multiple times if, if need to. Methodism is for the remission of sins, but it’s also to have a, a clear

[00:28:41] Zach Black: [00:28:41] conscience before

[00:28:42] Luis Urrego: [00:28:42] God. No. And before.

[00:28:44] And before, man.

[00:28:45] Zach Black: [00:28:45] Yeah.

[00:28:45] Luis Urrego: [00:28:45] And so you wanted that, you wanted to settle the whole thing. I mean, it was settled right there in the room for you, but now you were showing it on out on the outside to the world.

[00:28:57] Zach Black: [00:28:57] Yeah, exactly. That,

[00:28:58] Luis Urrego: [00:28:58] Hey, something’s [00:29:00] happened inside.

[00:29:00] Zach Black: [00:29:00] Yeah. I felt like that was the final step that I needed to take.

[00:29:03] Yeah. For that confirmation.

[00:29:06] Luis Urrego: [00:29:06] Amen. That’s wonderful. Yeah. So brother Zach, so is there anything else that you’d want to share or, or. Mm.

[00:29:13] Zach Black: [00:29:13] That’s pretty much it. It’s just, uh, I guess the only thing is that, uh, on a Christian

[00:29:19] Luis Urrego: [00:29:19] amen.

[00:29:20] Zach Black: [00:29:20] And I believe the message completely and fully, and I believe that it’s nothing but the

[00:29:25] Luis Urrego: [00:29:25] truth.

[00:29:26] Zach Black: [00:29:26] I will be serving God till the day that I’ve done. And amen.

[00:29:30] Luis Urrego: [00:29:30] What’s the one thing, what’s the one thing that you would, you would tell the young people, you know, that. Are in the same boat that you are. They were born and raised in the message, and if there’s, they’re struggling, they may not be struggling me with the things that you were dealing with, but still not fully giving themselves and to the Lord, what is the one thing that you said that you, what advice

[00:29:56] Zach Black: [00:29:56] that you would give them?

[00:29:58] I would say [00:30:00] that even though it’s, it’s late. Hmm. And, uh, you know, it’s getting towards the time where the rapture is drawing very, very near. I mean, it’s 20, 20. Sure. You know? Yeah. But at times are getting really hard and it’s, especially in this day and time. Yeah. You know, I know how much young people have to deal with and this generation, and I know how many spirits there are.

[00:30:27] How many times what the temptations are. Yeah. You know, especially out in public and at schools and Oh yeah. You know what people are doing. So, uh, I would just say that there’s, there’s still hope and not to give up. And if you are desiring to serve God, if you still have that desire, then. Run the gut. Yeah.

[00:30:48] As quickly as possible. There you go.

[00:30:50] Luis Urrego: [00:30:50] That’s what I was, I was hoping that that, that you would do, would say is this, is just to take that, that leap of faith and [00:31:00] just go, yeah.

[00:31:02] Zach Black: [00:31:02] Time’s running out. Yeah. It really is. And I never really thought that, uh, that I would be here today, uh, with the new birth. Amen. Or you know, actually be a Christian.

[00:31:15] I never really thought that at like a year ago

[00:31:18] Luis Urrego: [00:31:18] or

[00:31:18] Zach Black: [00:31:18] two years ago, I guess. So you never

[00:31:21] Luis Urrego: [00:31:21] saw yourself,

[00:31:22] Zach Black: [00:31:22] uh,

[00:31:23] Luis Urrego: [00:31:23] truly serve in the

[00:31:25] Zach Black: [00:31:25] Lord? No. No, I did not. Not in the place that I was in, cause I was, you know, you fall in that deep dark hole and it’s just, uh, it’s not a good place to be used. It’s hard to see yourself coming out of that.

[00:31:38] So, and you can’t do it yourself. That’s cause I’ve tried, I’ve tried that a few times, lots of times to actually, um, it’s, it’s impossible, you know, to do that on your own. You, you got to have God pull you out of there, you know? Yeah, yeah,

[00:31:55] Luis Urrego: [00:31:55] absolutely. Cause it’s a very, it’s a Southern that just sucks you [00:32:00] in maybe.

[00:32:00] Yeah. And it’s hard to get outside

[00:32:01] Zach Black: [00:32:01] quicksand. Yeah. And it’s, if you, even if you do manage to, it’s only temporary because you don’t have something to keep you this. Right.

[00:32:12] Luis Urrego: [00:32:12] You know,

[00:32:13] Zach Black: [00:32:13] keeping power in yourself. Yeah.

[00:32:16] Luis Urrego: [00:32:16] What’s the, what are the masking is Zack, you said one of the, uh, issues that you had was music.

[00:32:21] What helped you overcome

[00:32:25] Zach Black: [00:32:25] hip hop music and worldly music? I’m going to be honest, I don’t know. Uh, I just, uh, after, after I get. The new birth. It bothered me after listening to that kind of music, like it just didn’t feel right. I wouldn’t have moments where I’d like turn on a song and it would just, I couldn’t listen to it.

[00:32:51] I couldn’t listen to the whole thing. Like I just, I have to turn it off. It just didn’t feel right. And the desire was, it just left me. It’s like whatever was whatever’s inside of me just didn’t [00:33:00] agree with that. So yeah, it was, it’s, it’s got, yeah. You

[00:33:06] Luis Urrego: [00:33:06] kind of start feeling, uh, I hate

[00:33:09] Zach Black: [00:33:09] for it, or something like, this is

[00:33:12] Luis Urrego: [00:33:12] not

[00:33:12] Zach Black: [00:33:12] feeding me.

[00:33:13] Yeah, exactly. It’s feeding you or it’s feeding you the wrong thing. Feeding me the wrong thing, that you just have to, just

[00:33:20] Luis Urrego: [00:33:20] by your choice, you just, just let it, let, let, let it go.

[00:33:24] Zach Black: [00:33:24] Yeah. And that’s something that I never thought that I’d be able to give up. You know? Cause I love music so much.

[00:33:31] Luis Urrego: [00:33:31] Cause you’re a musician at our church.

[00:33:33] Yeah. Know you play guitar, you play the

[00:33:35] Zach Black: [00:33:35] bass. Yeah. Yeah. Through, yeah, through everything. I was always listening to music or something. Um, you know, it wasn’t just hip hop. It was all kinds of music that I just loved the music. But you know, now it’s just, it’s just Christian music and it’s, it’s not me. It’s the spirit that’s inside of me.

[00:33:54] Tell him, telling me, you know, just directing my life. Yeah. [00:34:00] And you know, telling me what’s wrong and what isn’t. Yeah. It’s really, really awesome to, to see that

[00:34:06] Luis Urrego: [00:34:06] cause there serve God even in the, in the late hour that we’re living in.

[00:34:10] Zach Black: [00:34:10] Yeah, definitely.

[00:34:11] Luis Urrego: [00:34:11] Do you feel that that every day that a young person has on this life, even if they’re struggling, you know, do you feel that every day that they have.

[00:34:21] That God gives them is an opportunity for them.

[00:34:24] Zach Black: [00:34:24] Yes, definitely. Every single day is an opportunity to change and and to ask, God. Uh, to deliver you and, and to, to, uh, save you.

[00:34:35] Luis Urrego: [00:34:35] So it’s not necessarily unnecessarily that God’s done with them. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:34:41] Zach Black: [00:34:41] Right. And if you still have the desire, if you have anything at all, still deep down inside of you, even if it’s like hardly noticeable.

[00:34:51] Luis Urrego: [00:34:51] Yeah. But even if it’s

[00:34:52] Zach Black: [00:34:52] a teeny bit, yeah. Even if it’s a teeny, but there’s still a chance that it’s definitely not too late.  definitely [00:35:00] not.

[00:35:00] Luis Urrego: [00:35:00] Because the Bible says that he would want, he would want for everyone to come to salvation.

[00:35:06] Zach Black: [00:35:06] Right.

[00:35:06] Luis Urrego: [00:35:06] That would be his, his will for all to come to salvation. Yeah. But we know that not all of them will, not everybody will, but if there’s that opportunity there, if there’s that, that calling or that drawing you there, that knowing, because I had that, you know, when I was younger, now I had that known in me.

[00:35:27] Knowing that I was not doing right.

[00:35:29] Zach Black: [00:35:29] Right. But yet

[00:35:31] Luis Urrego: [00:35:31] when you’re truly a son or a daughter of God, you’re not going

[00:35:35] Zach Black: [00:35:35] to feel comfortable. Yeah.

[00:35:38] Luis Urrego: [00:35:38] Let me, let me ask you this, Zach, did you feel like whenever you were with your friends or whatever, did you feel like. Uh, you’re, you’re really belonged there.

[00:35:47] Zach Black: [00:35:47] Yeah.

[00:35:48] Yeah. Okay. That happened a few times. Of course. You know, I was, ha there were times where I wasn’t having a good time, but it’s still like something, [00:36:00] it just, something I felt like something was wrong. Yeah. Like, uh, I knew that it wasn’t right for me to be there. You

[00:36:08] Luis Urrego: [00:36:08] know? And that’s, I think that’s a typical thing of, of someone that the Lord is dealing with.

[00:36:15] I don’t think the Lord was dealing with you just a few weeks ago, or even Jen or even last summer. I think the Lord’s always been worth dealing with.

[00:36:26] Zach Black: [00:36:26] I

[00:36:26] Luis Urrego: [00:36:26] think so. Because otherwise when you were out there, you know, with your friends and things like that, uh, you wouldn’t feel those little, those little things like, I don’t know if I should, uh, I don’t feel completely safe.

[00:36:37] Right.

[00:36:39] Zach Black: [00:36:39] Yeah. Doing

[00:36:40] Luis Urrego: [00:36:40] these things, you know, cause that’s how I felt, you know?

[00:36:43] Zach Black: [00:36:43] And God always knows what it’s going to take to, to bring you to him and what, what you need to go through. And yeah. You know, I, I wish I didn’t have to go through the things that I did or do the things that I did. Sure. And backslide [00:37:00] like that, but I’m thankful that I brought me to the Lord.

[00:37:04] Yeah. Yeah. Just brought me to that desperation to serve him. Yeah.

[00:37:09] Luis Urrego: [00:37:09] That’s all things work together for good to them that love God.

[00:37:13] Zach Black: [00:37:13] Right, right. Amen to that. Yeah.

[00:37:15] Luis Urrego: [00:37:15] That’s wonderful. Well, we’ll just, uh, we’ll, we’ll sign it off there and, uh, thank you, brother Zack, uh, as well for being here with us.

[00:37:24] Zach Black: [00:37:24] Yeah. Thank you.

[00:37:25] Luis Urrego: [00:37:25] And, uh, I hope that, uh, each and every one of you listening will pray for brother Zack black. And, uh, I’ll have a picture of him if it’s all right with him on, on, on, on the website, and maybe even, uh, a little, little clip of video of him getting baptized a few weeks ago. Um, they’re on the website as well.

[00:37:48] And just remember brother Zach and prayer, and I’ll, I’ll have my final thoughts here in just a moment. Thank you.

[00:37:54] Zach Black: [00:37:54] Is that, yeah. Thank you.
