Episode Summary:

On this episode we look at two scriptures in the Bible from the book of Isaiah and how God uses snow to represent different thoughts about forgiveness and the effectiveness of God’s Word in our lives.

Isaiah 55:10-11
10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Isaiah 1:18
18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Episode Transcript:

[00:00:00] Luis Urrego: [00:00:00] Welcome to the Ten Thousand Worlds podcast. My name is Luis  and it is an honor and a privilege to have you here listening today on this February eight 2020 this snowy day here in Georgia Southeast or the United States. Thank you very much for taking your time to listen to the. I just wanted today to talk about a few things, but before we get to that, I just wanted to, first of all, uh, thank you for your support and thank you very much for sharing the, uh, the podcast, uh, with others.

[00:00:41] And so, as I always say that if you are blessed. Then the others might be blessed as well. Uh, certainly we had a good, um, response to our last step of sewed with brother Zach black and his testimony. And it was just wonderful to get to talk with brothers, [00:01:00] Zach, and for him as a young man, uh, his age. Uh, sharing what God has done in his life, why he had done in his life and, and why it can continue.

[00:01:10] He continues to do. Um, and, uh, just his, uh, his, his struggle with, um, with the things that he struggled the most. It was basically an inner inner struggle. But once you completely surrender to the Lord, and once you completely surrender to God’s will. There’s nothing else, but to just, um, receive a blessing from him.

[00:01:37] And I believe brothers, Zach has done that. Um, I have been meaning to place the video of brother Zach being baptized there, um, on the post there on the website. And, uh, will. Do that just as I finished recording here today. So you’re welcome to view that video and just be blessed [00:02:00] by it. Today, I wanted to talk about something regarding, um, well, let’s just say snow today.

[00:02:08] We got some snow here in Georgia and it was some, uh. Normally we get snow here in this time of the year, um, at least a little bit. But this year we hadn’t seen any. And of course to the people down here in this part of the, of the country, um, is it’s a rare occurrence. Um. And when it does happen, everybody just goes very, it gets very happy, very excited.

[00:02:34] And uh, it’s just something beautiful, very pretty to see. And because we don’t see it much now, the people up North in the Northern part of the United States and out in Western part of the United States, around the mountains, the Rocky mountain areas, they get it. And see it all the time. And so therefore, my wife, she lived in Toronto originally.

[00:02:57] Um, originally she’s from the Philippines, but [00:03:00] she grew up in Toronto, Canada. And to her snow is, um. She doesn’t like it. It gets in the way it, it causes a road conditions to get bad and you know, just things like that. But here in the South, we welcome it and welcome it for the first a day or two, and then we want it to go away.

[00:03:21] And that’s just the nature of. Of us, but you know, regarding snow, I wanted to talk about something regarding snow in the Bible. Mentioned snow quite a bit different verses, but I wanted to take a moment and just. Paul ponder about these particular verses. One of them in Isaiah chapter 55, um, Isaiah 55, verse 10, and in verse 11, and it reads like this for as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth and make [00:04:00] it bring forth and bud.

[00:04:02] That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. In other words, it’s saying just as the rain comes down in the snow from heaven comes and. It doesn’t just come down just to come down. There’s a purpose behind why snow rain, uh, comes down. And one of those purposes is just as the versus saying here, a brings forth and, uh, and bud that, uh, you know, the.

[00:04:34] The grass, the trees, um, it waters the earth and, uh, so that it may provide for the sower of the one that’s sowed seed, the one that planted corn, the one that planted, uh, vegetables, fruit. Um. It may that those trees may produce fruit and then that the sower may [00:05:00] have bread to eat. And so that is one of the purposes of the snow.

[00:05:05] And God didn’t make things just to make things. He has a purpose for all things. And so if we continue reading here in verse 11 he says. So shall my word be that go with forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and they shall prosper in the thing where to.

[00:05:34] I sent it. Whenever you hear the word of God and when a minister is preaching, or when you listen to, uh, one of brother berms messages, or even you reading the word that in some way or another is going to bring forth fruit from that, from that watering. [00:06:00] You know, the Bible talks about the word being, uh, like water.

[00:06:05] And the Bible in another place talks about, you know, we are being sanctified by the washing of the water of the word. So there is, there is a purpose for the, when the word is going forth and when the word is going forth, whether everybody’s falling asleep, uh, or not, or not listening at all. Somebody is going to receive that and somebody.

[00:06:33] And that word is going to bring forth a harvest is going to bring something forth. Maybe not at the moment, but something is going to take place and as the word is going forth, because the Bible also talks about the word being a seed. And as the word is taken is going forth, um, it is. Is planting that seed [00:07:00] in your heart, and sometimes as the word is, you might be listening to preaching.

[00:07:04] You might be listening to by the Branum. I’m preaching, Oh, you’re listening to a tape or something like that. Maybe you don’t understand something. Something was said that maybe you just can’t fully grasp, but you say, Lord, I don’t understand this. Um, I’m going to come back and revisit this, but Lord, I want you to reveal it to me.

[00:07:27] Now. That’s the key right there. That’s the key that you come to God in that way, that you do want to know. You do want that word to be revealed to you. And guess what. It may not happen right away. Maybe a year down the road you listen to another minister who’s preaching on the same thing. All of a sudden he says something that the previous minister a year before had said, but says it in a different way where exactly the way you needed to hear it, [00:08:00] and bam.

[00:08:02] Two plus two equals four. Everything comes together and you, God gives you that revelation of that specific word that you needed, and guess what that word was sown to in you previously a year before and now it’s given fruit of what was sown a year before. So God’s word. And so God keeps his word. He keeps his promise.

[00:08:28] I don’t know. That’s happened many times to me, and I’m sure it’s happened to many, many of you, where all of a sudden maybe the minister is preaching something and they may not be, it may be preaching about something else and all of a sudden he says something, I am that. Brings something to your heart that you heard maybe two weeks prior, and it was like, Oh.

[00:08:52] So that’s why that’s that way. And then God gives you that revelation and you know what? [00:09:00] Revelation is something that’s Satan cannot take away from you. Once the word is revealed to you, there is nothing that Satan can can do to take that away from you. It’s, it’s, it’s sealed in you. Nothing. No devil in hell.

[00:09:18] Nobody can take that away from you when something is truly revealed to you. So God keeps his word. He says, so shall my word be that go with forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but as shall it shall accomplish that which I please, I. And it shall prosper in the thing where to, I sent it.

[00:09:41] It shall not return back. So the word as it was spoken, it did the work. It comes back to God. He is the, he is the, the labor or he is the, the, the, the one that owns the vineyard. In other words, uh, there is a specific word that the [00:10:00] Bible mentions. The one, the owner of the vineyard, he, the word is. Is he is, it’s his word and it, it will not return back to him void.

[00:10:11] It will produce exactly what it was sent forth. So I hope that that blesses you and that little thought helps you that sometimes. The best thing to do is when we don’t understand something as Christians, as the words going forth, uh, in whatever way, maybe something you read, maybe something that you’re listening to and you don’t understand it.

[00:10:34] But if you take the attitude and you say, Lord, if you reveal it to me, I know that I will be able to understand it and apply it to my life. And God knows your heart, and God knows your intentions. And God knows the reason why. And I believe in my heart that he will honor that prayer. So switching is changing.

[00:10:57] Gears also wanted to read to you in [00:11:00] Isaiah as well, and it is the verse I see Isaiah, Isaiah, if you excuse me here, Isaiah. Oh my, I done lost it. Isaiah one 18 Isaiah one 18 and the scripture reads like this, Isaiah one 18 it says, come now, let us reason together. Who says this, Seth the Lord. The Bible says there, come now let us reason together.

[00:11:35] Says the Lord though your sins be as Scarlet, they shall be white. They shall be as white as snow, though they’d be. Red light Crimson, they shall be as wool. And that is a promise. I say saints, and you know, sometimes it in [00:12:00] God knows your spiritual condition at divert at this very moment, and you can’t hide from him.

[00:12:06] You can’t hide your life from him. He knows and he knows what you’ll do an hour from now. And so there’s no reason for you to try to even hide anything from him. But the thing is, is that he wants you to come. Amen. Humble yourself to him in order to come to God. See, because he’s telling you here, he’s telling us to come now.

[00:12:35] Come now. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Don’t wait till next week. Don’t wait till till next year. Or when you’re a graduate from high school or when you’re 21 years old, don’t set those up. Limits on you. Siki the Lord. Wow. He still may be found. The Bible says that’s why God [00:13:00] hears saying, come now and let us reason together.

[00:13:04] He wants you to come now. The problem is, is that he is a gentleman and he’s not going to force you to do anything that you don’t want. It’s just like, you know, you want to meet with somebody and you say, look, I want to meet at certain restaurant at a certain time.  let’s get together. Well, you do your part and the person doesn’t show up.

[00:13:25] Well, you’re not going to force the person to come and meet you there if he decides in the last minute that he doesn’t want to meet you, he or she doesn’t want to meet you. So what, what, what do you do? You want to maybe you go tell the person, Hey look, I was waiting for you. You want to start that reasoning process with him.

[00:13:44] Hey, what happened? Is there anything wrong? What’s going on? And, uh, and so, excuse me.

[00:13:54] So then that is exactly what God wants to do. Why is it that we [00:14:00] don’t want to come to God? He’s the only one that can change our lives. He’s the only one that can forgive our sin. You cannot forgive your own sin. You cannot save yourself. There’s nothing you can do. There’s nothing that you can do. So why resist?

[00:14:18] God. Why resist him when he’s telling us to come now and let us reason together, and it’s really the reason that he’s talking about there. It’s not that you can out reason God, and God said, okay, all right. You continue to live the way you want to then. No, it’s not. That is that let us reason together and let us see why it is.

[00:14:42] That you don’t want to continue with God. And let me, let me, let me work in your heart because God wants to work in the heart, in the heart of the matter, the root of the thing, and when he can get in there and, and see. [00:15:00] And you give him the opportunity to reason, in other words, to reason with, with him, to talk with him, then God can discern and God can work with you.

[00:15:09] But when you don’t want to, and when you, and when you want to do your own thing and you don’t want, then God, there’s nothing that God can do for you. He will not force you to do anything that you don’t want. So diverse has come down. Let us reason together, Seth, the Lord, though your sins be as Scarlet. In other words, Scarlett was a, was a type of material that was used for clothing.

[00:15:35] And in, normally it was red, it was burgundy. Uh, and so we had that reddish color to it. And so the Bible says that if your sins be as Scarlet or of your sins are as red as that type of material. And cause when something is red is red and it’s not white. But listen to this though, your sins be a Scarlet, they shall be [00:16:00] as white as snow.

[00:16:03] And now snow is not red. Snow is not blue. Snow is not, uh, uh, green snow is norm is usually white in white in the Bible. Uh, whenever you see white as snow, something is widest. Now is talking about purity. It’s talking about cleanliness, it’s talking about sanctification. It’s talking about purification.

[00:16:27] Something clean. And. And that’s, that’s exactly what God wants to do with your sins. He doesn’t want you to keep hiding them and they continue to be red and in Scarlet, you know, and, and, and, and hurting you. And he wants you to come. And so he can cleanse you with the washing of the water of the word and through the sacrifice that he’s already done and paid for y’all in the cross of Calvary to turn those sins.

[00:17:00] [00:17:00] And they shall be as white as snow. In other words, they will, that will be so pure. Your, your sins will be gone completely so that you don’t, you won’t have that in your life anymore. You’ll be clean completely. They’ll be completely forgiven and you won’t have to worry and you won’t have to worry about condemnation and about feeling bad about your past anymore cause God’s taken care of your past.

[00:17:27] The verse continues to say, though they’d be red light Crimson, they shall be as wool and wool is produced by sheep and it’s white. You know, when a sheep is clean, you know it’s normally white and Crimson is the color red. And so. They shall be as wool, they shall be clean. You shall be clean by the washing of the water or the word.

[00:17:58] The thing is, is that you have to [00:18:00] decide to come to God. You he’s, he’s given you the opportunity. He’s extending his hand out to you. Now you’re the one to say, Lord. I received that invitation and I go to you because I know that you’re the only one that can wash my sins ending and take everything away.

[00:18:18] My condemnation, my past, everything that I’ve done, you’re the only one that can do it in that is what’s called justification saints. Justified as if you’ve never done it. And the first place he goes. Once you put your faith in that sacrifice that Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary, that he died for you and he paid the price for you, and he shed his blood on the cross for you so that you might be clean and then you might be as white as snow.

[00:18:50] Your sins will not just be as white as snow, but what God is saying here is that they will be completely gone. And there’s nothing that you have to do, but to believe [00:19:00] on why he’s already done for you. Sure there will be condemnation. Sure. Satan will come in and say, God’s really not forgiven you. God’s not done this and that for you.

[00:19:11] He’s still, but you know what the word you put your trust is in the word. The word is truth. And every word that comes out of Satan, every time he opens his mouth is he’s lying. And so. That’s what God wants you to do. And you know why? There’s nothing that you have to do other than come to him and receive the free gift that he’s given us.

[00:19:35] So snow is beautiful, snow is white. Snow is pretty, and, and the, it makes things so beautiful and that’s the exact same thing. God will make your life beautiful. God will make your life worthwhile to live. You’ll feel, uh, you’ll feel worthwhile to live. Yeah. [00:20:00] When everything is taken care of now the sin question is no longer a burden to your life and only you have to do is just depend on why he’s already done for you.

[00:20:13] So I wanted to just to take a few minutes and just share that with you and I hope that you take here. Maybe somebody needed that and somebody may may benefit from this and the word has been read. Listen, as we read in the previous verse, we’ve spoken about this word. We read these verses and I have full confidence that they will not return.

[00:20:36] Boy, someone. Well received a benefit from this word that we’ve spoken today. I trust that you have a wonderful rest of the week, Lord willing. Next week we’ll have another guest here on the podcast and. I’m trying to get that coordinated as we speak. [00:21:00] But until then, saints, I wish you a wonderful week and remember, do everything you can feed your soul because your soul is worth 10,000 words.

[00:21:15] God bless you. Bless you. Take care.
