His call to the ministry and his admonition and advice to all young ministers feeling the call to preach the Gospel.
- The importance of having Christ be the center of your home and how he was affected growing up by his parents doing this very same thing in their own home.
-
The importance of spending time in prayer and reading the Word of God and what he personally does to enter into God’s presence.
- What are the common misconceptions believers have about The Message of the Hour and christianity in general”
- What are the challenges that believers have in their daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ especially among the youth?
- The inspiration behind the Our Daily Strength application and where that project is at today and how you can have access to it for free.

[00:00:45] Obviously, this is not to replace church. This is not to replace you need to have Pastor. You need to have a church to go to but certainly just something to fill in the gaps. If for lack of better words [00:01:00] if you may be riding on the road or or or just walking, traveling some or something or you know something that you can listen to that will benefit you in a spiritual way.
[00:01:14] On this episode we want to continue with brother Stephen Coffey’s testimony part 2 of the testimony of our interview that we had with him. [00:01:59] And I hope [00:02:00] that you are blessed with it. Bro. Stephen Coffey with part two of that of our interview. May God richly bless you and I will come back at the end of the interview with my final thoughts. God bless you.
[00:02:24] Stephen Coffey: [00:02:24] I want my family and you know my future kids. I don’t have any kids yet, but I want my future kids to know that that God is real to me and that’s that’s what matters in our home is Jesus Christ. You know your reputation in Ministry, God will take care of that. You know, it’s not a popularity contest and you just going to get yourself into trouble if you do that. Make Christ the center of the home and that’s that’s for you know, minister or laity alike just just make Christ the center and everything else takes care of itself.
[00:03:00] [00:03:00] Luis Urrego: [00:03:00] Amen, I guess that’s the reason why if you see, you know, the way brother Barry’s four sons, you know, they came out.
[00:03:13] Stephen Coffey: [00:03:13] Yep.
[00:03:13] Luis Urrego: [00:03:13] And wonderful young men and because brother Barry and which is brother Stephen’s dad, you know Christ was the center and I believe that if every parent puts Christ at the center and their home then and you put them under that that the importance of the word be training them in the way that they should go which I believe your parents probably had that as a very important thing in their in their lives for you.
[00:03:47] Then when they get older even though they were wild children at some point. They would not depart. You see?
[00:03:55] Stephen Coffey: [00:03:55] Yeah exactly.
[00:03:57] Luis Urrego: [00:03:57] Praise the Lord Brother Stephen. [00:04:00] Bro. Stephen one of the I mean, because you know, obviously there’s there’s different challenges that every Christian faces today you both young and old and and of course in this in this our day, you know, it’s not it’s no different. The challenges that that were faced back in the Paul’s age amongst Christians. Feelings and temptations and things like that, even though the age and the Styles and the different things it’s different today. But still it’s the same Devils The Same Spirits. What do you think you know, as you’ve grown in the Christian walk and. And then this Christian way in the Message, what do you think that are today’s challenges amongst the Christian Youth, especially those that believe the Message of the Hour?
[00:04:57] Stephen Coffey: [00:04:57] So. [00:05:00] I think that first we have to. You know that can be a really difficult question to answer because the devil studies each person and their personality different. You know, and I think he can he lays in the he lays in wait, you know walking about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. For somebody it might be more emotional issues right that he’s going to pounce on for other people and maybe music for other people maybe you know lust so the way that the devil attacks each person is as unique as their own personality, you know, I think that the way God deals with them is equally as unique.
[00:05:53] But I think as far as the challenges for someone who [00:06:00] believes that they have the Holy Ghost believe that they’re saved and that they’re walking in the word for the day. I think the biggest challenge is is just honestly as simple as it may sound is just fighting a good fight and putting one foot in front of the other and I really believe this is the truth the life that’s inside of you.
[00:06:26] He who began that good work. We’ll finish it.
[00:06:30] Luis Urrego: [00:06:30] Amen.
[00:06:30] Stephen Coffey: [00:06:30] So I think the difficulty is in the day-to-day living and just that’s that’s where the pressure you know comes into play is between Sundays and I think that’s where the devil really plays and plagues at your mind that’s where influences start to creep in and strongholds be, you know are built by the devil and things like that.
[00:06:52] I think endurance. Is is the biggest challenge that we have as Christians. Brother Branham, you know, he was asked that [00:07:00] question. I think in Questions and Answers should evangelists continue on the field? And he said “well, yeah, of course, they should he said don’t you know don’t don’t change anything.”
[00:07:12] He says if Jesus is coming in the morning. He said live today, like if it was going to be, or he said, I think he said Preach Today like it was going to be 10 years from now but live like it’s going to be in this hour. So he said, you know don’t don’t change anything go about living your life. And I think the challenge for a Believer is be happy.
[00:07:40] Just enjoy your life. You know, that’s a real challenge and the devil can make you think wow I’ve got to conform to this everything like that. No the life that’s inside of you. God will pull out of you what he wants out of you. The scripture is very clear on that. His words shall not return unto him void.
[00:08:00] [00:08:00] Your responsibility is putting yourself in that atmosphere for the Lord to work with you. So if you’re mixed up with a bunch of worldly stuff, the atmosphere is not going pull out of you what God wants to pull out of you. But that life it’s inside of you God will deal with that. So it’s better you put that into his presence then you know God bring you through the process of bringing you to an altar, you know better you do that then he do that because he’s going to do it in a probably a rough way.
[00:08:31] So I think the challenge is is just just put one foot in front of the other. Enjoy enjoy your life as a Believer. We’re only going to get one chance at this right. I mean we’re going to live, we’re going to live eternally with with Him. But while we’re here just enjoy being a Christian enjoy the as crazy as it sounds, enjoy the fight, you know, just fight the good fight of faith.
[00:08:58] And if you look through scripture, [00:09:00] especially Paul and in the way that God dealt with Paul the Apostle Paul, He was constantly saying, you know fight the good fight of Faith run the race, you know, endure hard things, think about good things, you know, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and just you know continue on and that was his kind of his it was a consistent theme throughout his ministry.
[00:09:31] Just keep pushing forward and don’t stop and I think that endurance and that enjoying that process is what I think is a real challenge for believers. I think we fuss and we stew to put it in brother Branham’s turn too much. Let’s just enjoy being Christians, you know just being happy as you can. And there’s so much difficulty that we face and there’s so many trials, things that we go through life the life that God has given us is too short [00:10:00] to focus entirely on them.
[00:10:03] You know, the devil’s going to do what the devil is going to do. Let’s let’s let’s just be happy in the presence of the Lord and enjoy the joy of our Salvation, you know, and if you’re in a spot where I really think and I believe this that if you’re in a spot where you can’t do that, I think you need to go before the Lord and say listen Lord.
[00:10:24] I want to be I want to be happy to be a Christian. Can you can you bring me to that point. And I believe He will I really do. It does not mean that life will be an easier for you. But I do think that he will give you that that peace that surpasses understanding and I think that’s one of the biggest challenges we go through so much as a Message community and just all the things that happen.
[00:10:52] Just enjoy being a Christian. I think that’s one of the biggest challenges to me. Is just in that day-to-day walk [00:11:00] and cultivating that relationship with the Lord Jesus?
[00:11:03] Luis Urrego: [00:11:03] Yeah, I think it’s so hard for especially young people to see that God cares about what you’re going through and what you’re doing.
[00:11:13] So for example, you know, let’s say a housewife if you’re just a good housewife and a mom raising three, four children or I believe even brother Branham said this if you’re just a housewife be the best housewife that you can be if you’re just oh, yeah, I’ll farmer be the best farmer that you can be.
[00:11:34] And I think that’s one of the challenges also that you know, just as you said but if Stephen is that people have a hard time seeing God in the day to day tasks of life. And so for example a young young person who either homeschools or goes to a public school, it’s almost and they want to [00:12:00] live a Christian Life.
[00:12:00] It’s almost hard to for them to see. Well, how can I see God in this you know, how can I see God in homework in math homework or in science homework, but do you think that that that that God can be on the scene and and even as a young person in high school at a public school today?
[00:12:24] Stephen Coffey: [00:12:24] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:12:27] Absolutely. Oh, yeah, I think you know, I think the Lord speaks speaks at times when you don’t think he’s speaking and I think he’s dealing with you at times when you may not think that he’s dealing with you and I think the monotony of life is often times where God can really deal with you.
[00:12:52] Sometimes the most when it’s a difficult situation and it’s a trial. You’re before the Lord in a [00:13:00] really unique way, right? He drives you that desperation. And you know, you know that the Lord is working on you and you know that he’s there but when you don’t feel his presence, you know when you’re just going through your day to day life and you’re you know, you’re at school or at college or high school or whatever or you’re homeschooled.
[00:13:17] I was home-schooled. I went through University. But you know when you’re when you’re in those times the mundane times, I think I think God can really I think that’s when you can really develop a friendship with God and that that kind of friendship when you develop that I think that’s what people pick up the most is when you when you’re friends with God you can if you think about it even in your church, or you know, whatever you you can.
[00:13:47] Pinpoint the people that you know, that guy has a relationship with Jesus Christ and I think that friendship and that relationship it comes through just [00:14:00] the everyday living right just the goal in the school and things like that and just constantly. Building that friendship with them and just you know, enjoying the presence of the Lord even when you don’t feel them as strongly as you do even in the tough times or things like that if that makes sense.
[00:14:18] No,
[00:14:19] no, absolutely because I think you know and correct. I feel I’ve experienced this and I’m sure probably you have to brother Steven is that we think that. My if I could just see if I can get the church. Oh my then I’ll be able to praise God fully then or if I can just be around my Christmas my Christian Christian friends or you know, I can just praise I can really praise the Lord and really be in tune with God but I don’t know if I can, you know doing this again work for doing this that you know know I think the Bible says the joy of the Lord is my strength, right?
[00:14:58] Yeah, absolutely. [00:15:00] I’ve
[00:15:00] handed ugly and I think us to be able to express that joy and whatever tasks or whatever, you know, like you said mundane routine that we have every day. God wants to deal with you in those areas, you know God cares about those areas. So that’s wonderful both Steven. What do you think?
[00:15:21] What do you think are some of the you know, Misconceptions among among youth or Christians in general about about Christianity or about or we you know us believing the message of the hour the word for our day. Do you think there’s any misconceptions that people may have or even people maybe young people who are who are on the fence of should I or should I not served a lord,
[00:15:49] you know?
[00:15:52] I think that there are quite a few misconceptions. I think brother [00:16:00] Branham said it best when he said sometimes he says I think we get people to a Doctrine and we get them to a Theology and we don’t bring them through to Christ
[00:16:11] Luis Urrego: [00:16:11] and I
[00:16:12] Stephen Coffey: [00:16:12] don’t think of truer statement has ever been said a lot of times.
[00:16:18] In the presentation of the message of the hour, it can be it can be I don’t know, you know, I believe that the Lord tells his bride through the ministry exactly what he wants his bride to to know, right? He’s always got them in the place that he wants him and he’s going to tell them what he wants his bride to know.
[00:16:43] So, you know, I think. In the in the minds of especially young people they can misconstrue the reality of what the message of the hour is and the message of the hour is [00:17:00] Jesus Christ being made known among his people sure and that only happens when we get back to the unadulterated word. So a word that’s not.
[00:17:14] Filtered through just are thinking right, but it’s the the reality of what God actually said and faith in that word. And that’s what the Holy Spirit acts on the basis of right? So the we have the unadulterated word of God and that’s what the Holy Spirit. Operates in his word. So then when the when a bride member goes to the word and he lives and he recognizes a word is the truth and he follows that apart from man’s ideology.
[00:17:49] Then that’s what the Holy Spirit wants to work through and that’s what will change you because that’s that’s what God is looking for. And that’s really what the message of the hour is to me is that [00:18:00] it’s you know through a prophet in her last day. He’s revealed to us who we are in Christ and he he he made the best statement.
[00:18:13] He said the new birth in regards to the New Birth. He said that the new birth is the revelation of who Jesus Christ is to you personally that that is so true. And wheat, the worst thing that we can do is complicate the new birth, right and push it down into such lengthy doctrinal discussions when it’s the person of the Lord Jesus Christ and it’s him making himself known to you.
[00:18:42] So in order for him to do that, you have to put yourself in an atmosphere and in a place where God can speak to you and that that approach to the throne that approach to the word of God. Is I believe really what he’s looking for. I think one of the misconceptions can be [00:19:00] in a young person’s mind.
[00:19:02] This is a bunch of rules and regulations, right? This is a bunch of do’s and don’ts and right that’s not at all what it is. It’s the person of the Lord Jesus Christ making himself known through his people and you’re becoming a written epistle, right? You’re the word made manifest through the rest of the world.
[00:19:22] So he’s making himself alive. Through his bride which is which is which is us right. That’s and to me that’s I think one of the biggest challenges in the misconceptions is that it is a lot of do’s and don’ts and. It’s it in reality. It’s knowing it’s having the revelation of who Jesus Christ is to you personally and Phaeton is a revelation right and when you know when you know him in a personal way to me, that’s what the message of the hour is all about.
[00:19:56] And I think a lot of people can go just they can [00:20:00] skip right over that right and they’re so focused on. On the doctrine and Theology of it and they have no relationship with the Lord and you know, I don’t think that’s how brother Branham portrayed the bride being. I think he portrayed there being an invisible Union between the bride and the groom and that that relationship and that connection with the Lord Jesus Christ and his word and it being made known in their lives.
[00:20:28] and right, you know. That that’s really what that means to me. now
[00:20:34] Luis Urrego: [00:20:34] in your ride brother Steven because at the beginning especially for new Christians, it is going to be do’s and don’ts at the beginning it is going to be you know, we’re very zealous and we’re very. Almost
[00:20:48] Stephen Coffey: [00:20:48] legalistic
[00:20:48] Luis Urrego: [00:20:48] what legalistic you know, which is if you look at it, for example, like in the Old Testament, it was almost it seemed like the Old Testament was kind of like that.
[00:20:58] But then Here Comes Christ [00:21:00] in the New Testament is Christ the whole time but here comes Christ now, he’s a living person and then now Rex, you know, and then now is in the form of the Holy Ghost Inside inside of us wanted to live that same life that he that he lived through you. And that semi I thought I believed him Paul said that that that what’s the greatest mystery is Christ
[00:21:22] Stephen Coffey: [00:21:22] in you the hope of glory washes
[00:21:25] Luis Urrego: [00:21:25] and and I think a maturing Christian starts realizing that that it’s my goodness.
[00:21:32] It’s Christ Christ wants to live to me and that’s a it’s wonderful that you brought that quote out because that’s exactly right is the revelation of Jesus Christ personally to you is what the. So what this is what the the new birth is? I think do you think brother Steven one? And this could go back to one of the challenges is that to me?
[00:21:55] What I see is is that people have such a [00:22:00] hard time? How are you going to keep growing in the word? Are you going to keep growing in the Lord Jesus Christ and seeing that that reality of Jesus Christ day by day is through the simple reading your Bible and praying everyday. But do you see that a lot of people have that’s very challenging for them.
[00:22:19] It’s a simple thing to simple things to do. But yet it’s some of the toughest things for people to do. Oh,
[00:22:26] Stephen Coffey: [00:22:26] yeah. Oh, yeah people people are star. I am so busy.
[00:22:32] Luis Urrego: [00:22:32] Yeah,
[00:22:32] Stephen Coffey: [00:22:32] you just got you have so many things to do and not even important stuff. Right just to stuff that you got to get done. Everybody’s so busy.
[00:22:44] So what the time you’re done you you know, you lay down too. Kneel down to pray or however, you do it and your mind wanders to everything that you have to do tomorrow and everything is shifted. You didn’t get done today. [00:23:00] I think that’s a common problem for everybody. I think even kids. Yeah, I don’t know but I think you’ve for kids and I think I think that’s one of the the most important things is having that moment in time.
[00:23:17] During the day where you can have devotions with him, right just just read the word and connect and that if you do that consistently, it will change your life. One of the things that I used to do and I just kind of personal but when I was I would go through some very difficult times and I would actually go into my closet right now would make sure there’s no light.
[00:23:46] And I would put in earplugs if I had to so there’s no sound and I would just sit there and try to do as little talking as I could and just start to think [00:24:00] about the word. Right and David said the word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you. So what I would do is I would I would go into my closet and I would just shut the lights off and then I would put in earplugs if I needed to.
[00:24:15] And I it was kind of weird right and you know, I’m not a real loud fella and I didn’t speak out loud or anything like that. I would just pray and myself and I would try to do a little bit more listening right and just kind of just kind of meditate on the word and how he was dealing with me at the moment in time and I would just spend that time with the Lord.
[00:24:42] And you know what that really changed my life. It really did when I would start to do that consistently. I found that that you know, what he says is in the scriptures if you pray quietly he will reward you openly and I don’t think that’s you know, like it’s not [00:25:00] going to reward you, you know monetarily or anything like that.
[00:25:05] I think what that means is that will have an effect. In your life, in other words that will have have a visible effect and it did in my life. I would respond to situations differently. When I started to have intimate time like that with the Lord and I just set that time aside to do that and you know other times I would read the scripture and just spend some time in it.
[00:25:30] You know, I. You know, I don’t spend hours every day, you know reading and studying the word, you know like that in Ministry. I guess you kind of spend more time studying, right? So you’re kind of in the word a lot. But for a lot of people they don’t they’re not in the word like that. So they but it’s still important to take the scripture and to let the Lord deal with you as he would want to deal with you [00:26:00] right and just kind of let your.
[00:26:02] Let your heart be led in the word and you know in a message book and things like that and just kind of let the Lord deal with you as he does that just really really doesn’t have to be long but just let him do that every day that has such an effect in your in your everyday living and the way that you think and the way that you process things.
[00:26:21] Absolutely. I think you really does reward. You openly. Absolutely,
[00:26:26] Luis Urrego: [00:26:26] and one of the key things there that you said was. Was do it every day Lee insistent in fan. It’s in the in the consistent part is when you’re going to start seeing that it actually it becomes less and less difficult for you to do it.
[00:26:43] You’re still going to have that challenge and you did Satan still going to battle you but but there’s more of its kind of like it’s it’s kind of like if you’re trying to train yourself, I remember brother brother Jewel foreign. It was an evangelist, you know, [00:27:00] and he said he said one time he said, you know, if you could just give God 10 10 minutes, if you’re having the struggling, you know, praying and reading the word give them just 10 minutes that day.
[00:27:12] Yeah, and then the next day it might turn into 15 minutes and then the next day might you know, and then it just ends eventually your there longer than you thought you’d be. Until it just becomes less effort, you know not completely effortless, but it just becomes not as difficult as it used to be when if you can just give them just at least the first 10 minutes, you know, yeah.
[00:27:38] Yep, and I think that’s a mountain for people sometimes you know, because we have like you said, but Steven we have so many things to do. But if God’s God if you can just give God 15 minutes of your day. That’s that and just fully give him those 15 minutes. I believe God can do wonders and 15 minutes for you.
[00:27:58] Absolutely. You [00:28:00] know, I’ve experienced that in my life. I don’t know if you have been your brother Stephen, but. And then it just will be not as hard to give him 30 minutes an hour even two hours, you know. Yeah, if you’ve got allows it,
[00:28:15] Stephen Coffey: [00:28:15] you know, absolutely. Hey brother Brandon said that a lot of the reason that a lot of people do the things that they do the way they act the way that they do is because they’re not aware of his presence and I think if you if you cultivate an awareness of his presence.
[00:28:34] I think it will really affect your habit. It’ll really affect your thinking just your natural thinking it’ll really guide you in a different direction if you can just cultivate that awareness of his presence with you.
[00:28:49] Luis Urrego: [00:28:49] amen, amen, praise the Lord now this leads to and to regarding. Our daily [00:29:00] strength in which you had mentioned a while ago brother Stephen and it is it is an application and course.
[00:29:07] It’s something that God has placed on your put on your heart. Can you can you tell us exactly for those who don’t know what our daily strength is and how what the history behind it and how how God put that in your heart. How did you start feeling the desire? To work on this project because it is definitely a great blessing for not just the people but the bride of Christ, you know to be able to have this available to us and so can you tell us a little bit about that brother Steve?
[00:29:43] Sure,
[00:29:47] Stephen Coffey: [00:29:47] it was. I don’t even know how old I was when I started as it’s about three and a half years old maybe. I I just wanted a [00:30:00] message devotional on my phone and I wanted I wanted something like that that I could use on my device that it wasn’t, you know, a PDF document anything like that, but I just kind of wanted, you know a separate app that I can use and you know, I got to pray about it and I started to write some things right and.
[00:30:23] I was actually a really bad writer and you can read my college essays to find that out. I was it’s really bad. So I started to write a few and they were horrible. I mean they just they were all over the place. My you know, my thoughts were all over the place. They were just really bad run. So I wrote about you know, 20 devotionals and like three pages each and I I was like, you know what?
[00:30:53] I don’t know if it’s going to work. So I just stopped and it was a year. It was until a year later [00:31:00] that the burden came back on my heart really strong and I remember talking to my cousin Paul coffee. And I said don’t you wish that there was a message devotional that was like on your app and that was you know, it had the had the message.
[00:31:20] And had you know just kind of a thought, you know about the messaging scripture and kind of tie the tie the two together and he was like, yeah, so, you know, it just kind of dropped on my heart. Well, let’s make one let’s do it and I’m kind of an entrepreneur guy, you know at heart. So I just kind of do stuff, you know, so I was like well.
[00:31:45] I mean, I mean ask around so I asked around and I asked The Minister’s I had one Minister say, you know what? I don’t think it will be successful because I don’t think people want to hear the ministry. Over top of brother Branham. Hmm. I said hmm. [00:32:00] That’s interesting. I don’t I don’t think anybody should be talking over brother Branham, you know, Brian and so, you know, we got a lot of negative feedback or a lot of things that have been tried like that that you know weren’t necessarily that successful and it just kind of dropped on my heart.
[00:32:17] I said, you know what? I don’t think your how successful is I just want it. Yeah. I just I just want it. You know, I just want something I can read and. Just be a little thought and it just to trigger your thinking in the right direction. So it doesn’t have to be this big long study. That’s really good and everything like that.
[00:32:37] I just want a spark right if that spark can trigger my thinking in the right direction. That’s all I want. And so honestly we got together and I got together with my brother Lucas. And Paul my cousin Paul Coffey and we the three of us got together and we said all right, let’s let’s make [00:33:00] this happen.
[00:33:01] So we did some designs and stuff like that and we actually brought a lot of other people on board. It was about 9 in total that are there and not all of them want me to mention their names, but they’re all in the app. There’s actually some that helped that did not want their name mentioned and they were instrumental in.
[00:33:23] Luis Urrego: [00:33:23] Such humility respect.
[00:33:25] Stephen Coffey: [00:33:25] Yeah, I had a respect. I’m not going to say their names. But basically I’m a good example of what it what it what happens when you surround yourself with people that are better and smarter than you.
[00:33:39] Luis Urrego: [00:33:39] Amen.
[00:33:39] Stephen Coffey: [00:33:39] And that’s exactly what I did. I am not a good writer and I’m not you know, really good at I don’t think I’m really good at managing things.
[00:33:48] I just brought people who had certain kind of gifts together and there was a leading of the Lord right and it was according to the word [00:34:00] and. you know, so with that leading and we prayed Lord if this is yours you do with it as you please so I don’t care about popularity. I don’t I don’t want or need a Kingdom.
[00:34:16] I really don’t want I really don’t want that and I don’t need I don’t need it. But I do want you to spark my thinking in the right direction and everybody else that was involved one of the same thing. So I said if this is a view you do with it as you please and I’m going to I’m going to give it a shot right against against advice and that’s why I go back to what I said earlier that.
[00:34:37] Tree and ministers you have to follow the leading of the Lord. So in the multitude of counselors her safety, but it doesn’t mean it’s always the Lord’s will so you have to make sure that you’re you you’re you’re connecting with God and and your according to the word of God. So I did it and you know, we got we got a little bit of criticism there at the beginning [00:35:00] and.
[00:35:01] These people that were involved they built it, you know, they did the proofreading they did the design, you know, there’s certain Brothers took the social media and started to push that and and it grew and I think within a year and a half we had about over million unique users in over a hundred 64 countries.
[00:35:27] So that’s that’s over a million. People that have come in contact with it and that was within the first year and a half and you know, it was fluctuated between the tens of thousands of people using it every day and then it just grew from there. Right and and now there’s people all over the world that are that are using it and it’s really it’s really kind of a just personally it’s really kind of a difficult thing for me because I do not.
[00:35:59] I [00:36:00] do not like having my name out there, right? I do not like people it bothers me to think that people would think that I’m building my own Kingdom, right? It just it’s something that I’ve always really struggled with and I just don’t want that but I took the chance right and I you know in everybody that was involved in our daily strength.
[00:36:23] They they wanted to be a part of that right and it. It I think it affects people in a very unique way and it’s not to take away from the relationship with Christ. It’s meant to be that spark right and then that direction and so it kind of evolved into what it is today. And like I said, you know, I’m just a good example of what he’ll what can happen when you have a leading of the Lord and you get people who are smarter than better than you.
[00:36:56] And put them in a room together.
[00:36:59] Luis Urrego: [00:36:59] Yeah, [00:37:00] absolutely. Let me let me ask you two questions regarding a brother Stephen. First of all, they did what did your what did your dad think about it if if you if you don’t want to answer that, that’s fine. But. now
[00:37:16] Stephen Coffey: [00:37:16] that’s a fair question. He he was all for it.
[00:37:19] He said he said have at it and let me know how I can help.
[00:37:23] Luis Urrego: [00:37:23] Like a good that
[00:37:25] Stephen Coffey: [00:37:25] yeah. Yeah, so he was he was very supportive of it. And you know, I asked him, you know, let me know your opinion right? Let me know what you what you think and everything like that. He was extremely supportive of it and and helped in any way that he could well praise the Lord
[00:37:43] Luis Urrego: [00:37:43] and and and also the.
[00:37:46] For the listeners that don’t know our daily strength is a is an app where you get on a daily basis. Hmm a devotional like a little that that and it’s not a long devotion and that’s what I like [00:38:00] about it that it’s not something that is extremely long, but it’s like brother Stephen said it it leaves it raises a spark in you too.
[00:38:10] Maybe as a minister at least, you know me being a minister. It might lead me to start looking at certain direction, you know and start and then it’ll just maybe eventually open up something, you know a whole sermon out of just one little one little devotional but it’s something for for people to be able to read and and you have theirs.
[00:38:29] I think I believe you also have quotes there a little quote there that go along. With the writing if I’m not mistaken brother Stephen. Yeah, yeah of quarter brother Branham and and it’s just it’s a wonderful thing to have especially on in this in this busy busy day to day life that we that we live and to be able to just we all have our phones.
[00:38:54] We all have our tablets. We all have computer computer and and [00:39:00] something that we can look to. Doesn’t replace going to church and it doesn’t it should not replace your personal time in prayer with God,
[00:39:07] Stephen Coffey: [00:39:07] right? Absolutely not. No, absolutely
[00:39:11] Luis Urrego: [00:39:11] not. But but at least it’s something that that that you can have there as a support for you and what a wonderful thing that they ask you this but if Steven is this something that who is it you that usually writes out the devotionals or just different different people that you work with and is it on a daily basis?
[00:39:32] Stephen Coffey: [00:39:32] No, I do all the writing. Wow. I’d have the writing and. think. Right. Now we’ve written the equivalent of three novels so many words. We’re in my good and you know, I wanted other ministers involved in a lot of other people have asked me to have a lot of other ministers involved and you know, it’s just never worked.
[00:40:00] [00:40:00] It’s never worked out. I’ve asked a couple of ministers for devotionals, you know write them and give them to me. In the I never get a so I just kept writing and I’m the only one riding on there so far, you’ll see where the Lord leads as far as that goes.
[00:40:16] Luis Urrego: [00:40:16] Yeah, well the advantages is that you’re getting you becoming a better writer now.
[00:40:21] Stephen Coffey: [00:40:21] Well, I
[00:40:24] Luis Urrego: [00:40:24] hope so now brother Steven where can people go to to get the get the app or what is the best way for them to be able to get the app
[00:40:34] Stephen Coffey: [00:40:34] so you can go to our daily strength.com? Not to be confused with our daily bread. It’s our daily strength.com and you can go on to the App Store and type in our daily strength and get the app for the iOS version or you can go to the Google Play store and get the Android version.
[00:40:59] So [00:41:00] work on the iPhone or the Android. You can download it and use it and it’s very simple. It’s free. And you can you can download
[00:41:11] Luis Urrego: [00:41:11] it that way. It’s it’s almost amazing that it is free because it’s it’s wonderful content and very helpful, especially for
[00:41:21] Stephen Coffey: [00:41:21] the young people out there. Yeah.
[00:41:23] Luis Urrego: [00:41:23] Well,
[00:41:24] Stephen Coffey: [00:41:24] tell him I said Solomon said to buy the truth, but never sell it.
[00:41:30] So
[00:41:30] Luis Urrego: [00:41:30] amen. I don’t
[00:41:32] Stephen Coffey: [00:41:32] want to sell it.
[00:41:34] Luis Urrego: [00:41:34] Praise the Lord praise the Lord, but Stephen out when you go to the iOS, for example, I was there I was there today when you go to your at the Apple Store, there’s two versions of the of the app. Is there a difference between the two versions or
[00:41:51] Stephen Coffey: [00:41:51] well to the there’s our daily strength 2.0.
[00:41:55] So if you go to the App Store and you type in our daily strength 2.0 [00:42:00] you’ll get the new app. And we just kind of we shifted directions with the way the app was designed. So if you go to our daily strength 2.0, you’ll
[00:42:11] Luis Urrego: [00:42:11] get the collector current version that people should be downloaded. Okay.
[00:42:16] Stephen Coffey: [00:42:16] Yeah,
[00:42:18] Luis Urrego: [00:42:18] well wonderful.
[00:42:19] Wonderful. I hope that our listeners will take advantage of that and again, it should not replace your personal time with with the Lord and your personal reading. In the the word of God in the message of the hour, but it’s something to go along with what you are already doing and on a daily basis and also making sure that you go to church.
[00:42:43] And listen to Live Ministry. Amen that’s in very important in this out absolutely important in this brother Stephen. Is there anything else that you’d want to say to our listeners that that you know, any last closing thoughts that maybe you’d want to [00:43:00] let them know?
[00:43:02] Stephen Coffey: [00:43:02] well. you know, that’s. it’s a real privilege to be able to speak to people who are listening and.
[00:43:12] I don’t take that for granted and I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to talk back and forth with you and talk about the Lord and what he’s done for our lives. I’m so very thankful that he’s not done yet working with with me with you. I think there’s a lot left to be done. Right and if the Lord tarries I thought I’m so thankful that he’s still working on me.
[00:43:40] That he’s still here with his church and working in us I would. I would say this I think you know. since brother branham’s death 1965, you know, we’ve had a few Generations rise [00:44:00] up, you know since since that rhyme and. you know, I think within the message community. I think we need to realize that we’re all just a bunch of just a bunch of normal people and you know, we have personalities.
[00:44:18] We have differences. We have issues many are the afflictions of the righteous. We have trials or tribulations and absolutely, you know, I think at the end of the day. I think what matters the most is that we. And I’m talking to Believers right people who people who believe they have the Holy Ghost and they’re walking in the world.
[00:44:44] I think we need to First realize that were. were already walking on the water and what I mean by that is when Peter and was saw Jesus in that scene in I believe in Matthew when [00:45:00] he saw Jesus walking on the. They got out of the boat and he started to walk towards me to believe the message of the hour.
[00:45:08] It takes a lot of faith. Right even to be a part of even to go to a church Message Church you it takes a lot of faith to wrap your head around. Oh, yeah. So I think a Believer is already in the water. So it’s not that you have to get out of the boat, right and start walking you’re already on the water because your you’ve got your faith in action.
[00:45:29] It was when he was on the water that he started to look around Peter started to look around to the waves and storm and that’s when he began to sink. And I think for the message Community, we’re already walking on the water. I mean, what we’re doing is if you think about it just crazy. It’s so not mainstream right so far from society.
[00:45:50] Oh, yeah, and we’re already on the water. So just keep your eyes on Christ. And that’s what kept Peter above water [00:46:00] was keeping his eyes on Christ and just putting one foot front of the other. And it’s steady steady Pace. Just keep going keep going and he made it and I think that’s I think that’s what we need to do.
[00:46:13] Just as Believers is we’ve got all the you know, you know, there may be so many pots so much politics going on this church, not Fellowship in that church and that church not fun, you know and all that all that really doesn’t matter. It really doesn’t matter. I think as individuals as Christ deals with the.
[00:46:32] I think we need to find a church where we had solid Ministry. Holy Ghost filled Ministry where the Holy Ghost free to move among his people and go to go to church raise your family’s experience all that. You can experience enjoy life. Just enjoy being a Believer Joy being Christian just enjoy being a Christian and just live your life the best you can for the Lord.
[00:47:00] [00:47:00] And just keep putting one foot in front of the other keep your eyes on Jesus Christ and I believe you’ll stay above the water and I believe he who started a good work in you will finish it to the very end. And you know, I don’t believe it’s very long to go. I think the Lord is is working in the world.
[00:47:20] We see where Israel is we see where you know what he’s doing as far as the spread of the message in across the globe. And I don’t think it’s going to be very long. I think we just as a message Community as people. We just need to keep before the Lord as best. We know how and submit ourselves to him and just keep your eyes on Christ and just keep walking.
[00:47:42] And that’s that’s that’s what I that’s what I strive for my day-to-day life, you know, and I just I just want to enjoy the time that I have with my wife and the the time that the Lord has given me on this Earth and I just want to live for him the best that I can and I think that’s what we need to do.
[00:47:58] Luis Urrego: [00:47:58] Amen, that’s [00:48:00] so powerful brother Steven whether you realize it or not that that we are walking on the water. Yeah right now. Yeah, it takes a lot of faith,
[00:48:09] Stephen Coffey: [00:48:09] you know to believe.
[00:48:11] Luis Urrego: [00:48:11] The word of God even even even even the word, you know, even for even for a nominal Christian out there, you know to even believe what they believe it takes Faith.
[00:48:24] Stephen Coffey: [00:48:24] Yeah, you
[00:48:26] Luis Urrego: [00:48:26] know that Christ died for
[00:48:27] Stephen Coffey: [00:48:27] your sins, you know,
[00:48:30] Luis Urrego: [00:48:30] and a man that nobody had ever seen except for that lived at that time. You want it? You got it, you know you have to have faith. You know, when what that man Christ Jesus or God himself did did for you the Christian life itself is its faith and and then when you come and and the message is presented to you, it takes a lot of faith.
[00:48:57] Like you said absolutely even to to [00:49:00] accept and believe in you’re going to go criticize you’re going to get you’re going to get. Everybody’s going to accept it. No, but when it’s been revealed to you, there’s no where else can I go where else can I turn to you as Peter said thou Hast the words of eternal life?
[00:49:17] Yeah referring to Jesus cry yet.
[00:49:20] Stephen Coffey: [00:49:20] Absolutely.
[00:49:22] Luis Urrego: [00:49:22] That’s so wonderful brother Steve and it refreshes me. The to to know that there are young people in this hour, you know and brother Stephen, you know, you’re almost reaching 30. Thanks
[00:49:35] Stephen Coffey: [00:49:35] for reminding me.
[00:49:38] Luis Urrego: [00:49:38] Hey, what’s worse? I’ll be 40
[00:49:42] Stephen Coffey: [00:49:42] next year
[00:49:42] Luis Urrego: [00:49:42] or so. But but you know, what still at 28, you know to 30 years old.
[00:49:49] You’re considered. You’re still young. You’re still consider a young man and and. You know if the Lord tarries you have all this life ahead of you still that that [00:50:00] that your desire is to is to give all your strength and everything you have for the Lord and my encouragement to you, but Steven is just don’t lose that that that that is Zeal and that desire because I think that that’s very that’s something that others others, especially our young people they need they need to see that hey.
[00:50:23] Twenty-year-old can live for Christ in this hour and beat and be an overcomer. Oh, yeah, and there’s that. Sometimes we think that an overcomer is just an older person that’s been in the message for 50 years. No. No. God said that there was going to be Overcomers and this in this laodicea and I believe there’s Overcomers that are young and old and Middle Ages and teenage
[00:50:46] Stephen Coffey: [00:50:46] absolutely.
[00:50:47] Hey man, so true
